The $214,206 Threadlike Worm Mesenchytraeus Solifugas

By John T Jones, Ph.D. NASA has provided a 3-year grant to Daniel Shane of Rutgers-Camden to study ice worms. He finds a glacier, waits for the sun to go down, and then scoops ice worms into a cooler which he closes with duct tape and zaps off to Camden. An assistant, Brittany Morrison, helps him with the work. Brittany is particularly interested in the energy molecule that the black ice worms have. Things are different with ice worms. Regular worms dont like cold weather. Ice worms like the temperature to be exactly at freezing. They squirm and squirm and squirm. NASA saw Dans work and became very interested. One NASA scientist said, Europa! You can find what you need to know about Europa at: http://www2.jpl.nasa.gov/galileo/europa/. When the scientist said, Europa! everybody caught on. The Director said, Send that man Daniel Shane and his graduate assistant a ton of money right away! And thats what they did. The reason that NASA has a need for threadlike worm Mesenchytraeus Solifugas information is that people at NASA are saying things: Dr. Ronald Greeley, an Arizona State University geologist and Galileo imaging team member, said (that) the ice rafts reveal that Europa had, and may still have, a very thin ice crust covering either liquid water or slush. “We’re intrigued by these blocks of ice, similar to those seen on Earth’s polar seas during springtime thaws,” Greeley said. “The size and geometry of these features lead us to believe there was a thin icy layer covering water or slushy ice, and that some motion caused these crustal plates to break up. “These rafts appear to be floating and may, in fact, be comparable to icebergs here on Earth,” said another Galileo imaging team member, Dr. Michael Carr, a geologist with the U.S. Geological Survey. “The puzzle is what causes the rafts to rotate. The implication is that they are being churned by convection.” (see http://www2.jpl.nasa.gov/galileo/status970409.html) In a secret NASA memo provided to me by my White House correspondent, Jose Caliente, NASA wants a bucket of those worms that can live on ice. If NASA does not find life on Europa, they want to dumb a bucket of those worms there and watch them evolve into the Box Turtle. Im going to tell you the truth now, so BUCK UP! When I was teaching engineering at Iowa State University (which nearly got clobbered by a tornado the other daynothing unusual) a friend of mine, Dr. Wayne Rowley, who was and may still be a professor in the Entomology Department, asked if I would help him with a project. This is what the project was: sticking the tip of a tiny iron-constantan thermocouple into the thorax of a house fly or a mosquito and measuring the temperature increase of the insect as it flew and flew and flew. Dr. Rowley had a clever little device that he pinned the insect to. A fly or mosquito could fly in circles until its energy molecules went dry. All of that energy expenditure heated the cute little creatures up. Here are the results: House Fly (Musca domestica Linnaeus)Temperature Increase 4F degrees Northern House Mosquito (Culex pipiens Linnaeus)Temperature Increase 1.5F degrees At the end of the test, Dr. Rowley would squish the critters so that he could measure how much of the energy molecule remained after the flight. He soon figured out how much energy it takes to fly and fly and fly. Im sure that Brittany will be squeezing the energy molecules out of those Mesenchytraeus Solifugas to see how much energy it takes to squirm, squirm, squirm. I say, Good Luck! to Daniel Shane of Rutgers-Camden as he buckets those thin black ice worms at night off those glaciers (he says there are zillions of iceworms; they are easy to catch). I say, Good Luck! to Graduate Assistant Brittany Morrison as she squishes the threadlike ice worm Mesenchytraeus Solifugas. Good Luck to NASA too! CopyrightJohn T. Jones, Ph.D.2005 John T. Maturity in Relationships

By Emelisa Mudle I remember once reading about being egoic in relationships and it certainly has made a great deal of difference in my life. I sat sobbing realising how I have continued a pattern of defence and protection through communicating on some level with my partners. In this I started to question: ~ How I am ~ How I react ~ How I choose to be In this reality check I started to become more conscious of my defences and interactions. I noticed how I would butt in mid conversation because I felt as though I was being misconstrued. I was so ready to pounce on some level I never gave the other person a chance to say all they needed to say. Now I am able to feel the energy of defence I sit in the feeling knowing when to step back and listen doing it this way feels so much more vulnerable and gentle. Even through my most hormonal challenging time I am able to sit balanced without deeply feeding into where it takes me. I believe we choose how we react so there fore my intent is love it feels softer, vulnerable making conversation simple loving and supportive. Healthy loving relationships take time, patience compassion and a large dose of commitment. It is important to sit and listen when another soul mirrors something about me that is hard for them but feeling strong and vulnerable enough to see if it is something I need to change or something that they need me to change in so they feel safe. Having a healthy conversation when things are confronting and being respectful of my heart knowing I have choices in my actions. Stepping back and not always having to say things straight away which than allows me time to feel and gain a better understanding of what I am really feeling. Knowing in me that the hurt child I carried for so long no longer rules my life and that I am able to reach out and create my own safety be less needy, be a better listener even when being accused of something being stronger in her heart boundaries and self worth. No longer feeding into the flight or fight games. I also dont believe you have to hurt the ones you love that in itself is a choice to I am not saying we wont hurt there is a difference between being honest and lashing towards another soul. Relationships will bring up your mum and dad issues how they reacted to you and how they communicated between themselves. As we grow we build up our own ideas rules and defences and become so rigid and lost in them that when something comes up in a partnerships we tend to think and blame the person in front of us when it is actually stemming back most times from our own childhood. This is a working progress I still feel hurt and get a little panicky at times hitting those powerless places when abandonment and low self worth run rampant. Its an amazing place to say I feel scared or I feel hurt I used to believe that being vulnerable was weak and tears where for cry babies. How mislead was I. Changing a perspective on healthy relating is the best gift we can give others and ourselves. I remember many years ago writing a list of what I wanted in my perfect partnership then being asked to turn the list around seeing if those are the qualities I have as well. At that moment I realised I had a lot of work to do. Being in a healthy relationship is such a beautiful joyful experience to actually love some one enough that your intent is always from an unconditional place. One other lesson I had learned is to not settle in a relationship, hanging on with hope that the person you are with is going to change that maybe by some great miracle theyll come around to the way we see things. It is important to be on the same page in areas of communicating, spirituality, libido, children and other areas, which you greatly value. If your partner values work way more than a relationship and you dont there will be a problem in priorities as you are both seeking energy in different places that can then cause separation and distance. We all deserve a beautiful loving relationship lets not rush into every attraction sometimes in our neediness for love we can confuse attraction with connection. Identifying and Exploiting Markets for the Service Industry

By Lance Winslow If you are in the service industry then you realize that you must give the customer what they want and compete in the marketplace with other companies that also offer services. One thing that service industry executives need to consider is that once you get into the marketplace you will find customers who will tell you they wish you to modify your services and they are willing to pay you more if you can do this for them. As more and more customers demand different kinds of variations of the services that you already provide it makes sense for your service company to also offer those lines of services. In fact quite often you will find that many of the additional services that are asked for in various markets by your customers will be more profitable than the current services you provided when he started. This is because most likely you picked a series of types of services that were very common in the marketplace and as you got more and more into the industry and all the sub-sector industry niches that you serve, you found other services that people wanted you to do and were willing to pay you a lot more to do them. Indeed, such new services may have little if any competition and it makes sense to exploit these niches and identify them as early as possible so you can make more money in the marketplace in your service business. Perhaps you might consider all this in 2006. “Lance Winslow” - Online Think Tank forum board. Swimming Pool Guide

By James Hunaban In essence, swimming pools are rather simple - they’re just big bowls of water. They are a great antidote for the long hot days of summer. These days, swimming pools are quite common sights in peoples backyards, particularly the above ground type of pool. Swimming pools are a super addition to anyones home. Above ground swimming pools are great fun for parties or BBQ’s, and are good to sling the kids in during those long hot summer days. Above-ground swimming pools are a lot less expensive than the in-ground type of pool. Of all pool types, the fiberglass type of swimming pool is probably the most popular. In some regions of the world, a swimming pool for private use is looked on as a status symbol (an indoor pool more so). Indoor swimming pools, while still thought of as a pretty fancy addition to the home, are really gaining some popularity in mainstream America. There could be drawbacks of course, one is that chemical fumes from indoor swimming pools may contribute to a higher risk of children becoming asthmatic, a study from Belgium has suggested. Indoor swimming pools will either need construction of an addition to your home or some sort of outbuilding. Danger Drowning in residential swimming pools is the main cause of morbidity and mortality for children of a tender age. Studies have shown that young children are much more likely to drown in residential swimming pools than in lakes or similar open bodies of water. I repeat, drowning is a real and present danger, keep a close eye on your child. A swimming pool can be a safe and healthy recreational tool when swimmers are educated, and every precaution has been taken to make absolutely sure the swimming pool is safe. Building an in ground swimming pool is quite an undertaking, it not only costs a lot of cash, but can also take a lot of time. An in ground swimming pool will only turn out as good as the quality of its planning and design as well as the materials that go into it. For a lot of families, the American dream is complete only when the swimming pool is added to the garden. Great Beauty Secrets You Must Know

By Adam Asar BEAUTY THROUGHOUT THE AGES If you think today’s obsession with beauty is something new, think again! Men AND women have been in touch with their bodies and beauty dating back as far as the ancient Egyptians. The Egyptian’s concern was based as much on pleasing the gods of their time as it was for personal adornment. In fact, it could be said that they prepared their bodies more for the afterlife than the current time. All one need do is read about the tombs and mummies that have been excavated and study what was found. Lavish pictorial examples reveal how extravagantly the aristocracy lived their lives. Just take a look at the detail the next time you have an opportunity to view Egyptian archaeology reports. Gold and silver bracelets, lapis and jade pendants, rings of gold studded with semi-precious stones. All are evidence of just how deeply involved the human race is with beauty and adornments. IS BEAUTY REALLY SKIN DEEP? The answer is yes and no. Its a paradox, isnt it? True beauty begins from the inside out. Dont you wish there were some way to wriggle your nose and regain that soft skin you had as a child? Well, until someone comes up with the true Fountain of Youth, we are stuck with what we have. The best route to healthy skin is to take care of what you have. Sounds simple, doesnt it? The truth is that your skin takes a beating from the environment every single day. Here are some of our favorite tips for keeping your skin fresh and healthy: 1. Stay hydrated, and drink plenty of water! That doesnt mean soda, caffeine or any other type of liquid even if it is low cal. Soda (even diet soda) has a high concentration of sodium. Sodium retains fluids. You need fluid that will hydrate and flush your body free of toxins. Make sure you are drinking at least 8 glasses a day! 2. Protect your skin from harmful ultra violet (UV) rays. We all love the sun. We love being in it and we love having a beautiful tan. The truth is you can poison yourself with too much sunshine. UV rays cause skin cancer, and if that isnt bad enough, it causes your skin to age faster than it should, contributing to unsightly wrinkles. If you must play in the sun, make certain you are using an adequate sun screen. Dont leave home without it! 3. Apply your sun screen even if you only make a quick trip to the grocery store. Yes, you can get harmful UV rays even while driving your car! 4. When you purchase sun screen, make certain you are buying the right tool for the job. There are different types of UV rays and they dont all affect our skin in the same ways. The time of year also has a bearing on how much damage the sun can do to your skin. Altitude is another important factor. UV rays are more intense at high altitudes. Sunshine alone is not the culprit. You can do just as much damage to your skin (or in some cases even more) on a cloudy day! 5. Dont forget sun screen for your lips. They want to be healthy too! 6. Apply your sunscreen BEFORE going outdoors and allow plenty of time for it to adequately absorb into your skin cells rather than just sitting on top of the skin. 7. Read the labels on skin care products. The truth is that some ingredients may do more harm than good. The more ingredients are listed, the more potential harm they can do to your skin. THE EYES HAVE IT! They dont call them the windows to the soul for nothing! The eyes never lie. If youre feeling and looking great, your eyes will shine and sparkle. If youre sad and lonely your eyes will give you away every time. If you have red, watery eyes due to allergies, deal with them! There are plenty of medications available to eliminate allergy symptoms. Nothing will detract from your appearance faster than red eyes. If you wear eyeglasses, make certain that they do not detract from your appearance. Eyeglasses should complement your eyes, not cover them. If your frames are unattractive, it means you had the wrong sales person. Try again. If you can wear them, consider switching to contact lenses. Make sure you remember to remove them when swimming. You can easily lose them in the pool or worse, if you wear soft lenses you could contract a cornea infection that comes from a parasite found in water. The chlorine wont kill it and the result of this nasty little dude is not pleasant. You are inviting painful corneal infection that could cause partial or total blindness. Try buying different colored lenses. You might discover a whole new you behind blue eyes! HAND IT OFF! Did you know . . . many ancient beauty treatments are still in use today? An example is the East Indian art of painting the hands and feet with Henna. It is known in India as Mendhi and is an ancient Indian art form which has been performed for generations not only in India, but the Middle East, Pakistan and in Africa as well. Women in India traditionally painted henna on their hands and feet, insides of their arms and up their shins most often for a wedding, or other special occasion. The intricate patterns on the hands are particularly beautiful. Nothing will give away your age quicker than the condition of your hands. Lets take a look at some tips to try and hold off the ravages of time. While we dont particularly recommend the practice of mendhi for everyday USA, it would be helpful in covering up some of those age spots, wouldnt it? Try this tip. Apply vitamin E oil directly to the spots to fade the discoloration. There is also a product thats been around since Grandma was a youngster. Its called porcelana and women have credited it for removing age spots for decades. If you spend hours at a time on the computer, be sure you use a rest for your wrists. It will help ward off carpal tunnel syndrome. THESE FEET WERE MADE FOR WALKIN Did you know . . . an average human being loses almost a cup of liquid a day through their feet? Or that a babys foot is made up almost entirely of cartilage? They will harden as the feet grow. Keep a pumice stone handy so you can put it to work on those heels as you step out of the shower. Use a few drops of essential oil in your next footbath! Pamper your feet. Treat yourself to a pedicure! Try a foot massage. Its relaxing and rejuvenating. Try it on yourself or ask your partner and trade off. Everyone wins! If your ankles and feet are swelling, its a sure sign you are holding fluids. Try to avoid sitting for long periods at a time and cut down on your salt intake. Stilettos are beautiful and yes, they do make you look sexy, HOWEVER, you should avoid long walks while wearing them. In fact, you should always wear sensible shoes. Ha! Fat chance, right? Seriously, what about a compromise? Wear sensible shoes when you are coming and/or going from work and keep the heels in a tote bag. For extremely dry feet, lather on a layer of cocoa butter to each foot, slip your feet into plastic bags and pull on a pair of oversize socks. Leave on overnight while sleeping and when you awaken the next morning your feet will feel smooth, silky and soft. Add milk to a footbath for softening the feet. HOW TO AVOID BAD HAIR DAYS They say that a womans hair is her crowning glory. Even so, all women have those days when we wish we could cover every unwieldy strand! Get a good hair cut! It all begins right here. Without a good hair cut, nothing else you do will give you the results you want. In order to have a good hair cut, you need a great hair stylist and when you find one, keep him/her! Jumping around from stylist to stylist can be hazardous to your hair. The old adage about getting what you pay for is very true when it comes to something as important as your stylist. Yes, its possible to find a good stylist at the fast hair shops, but the cost to your hair while searching may be more than you care to spend. Fast hair shops usually employ new, young stylists with little experience. They earn a minimal wage and do not have to invest in hair care products to use on their clients. Stylists that you find in upscale shops and salons are usually independent contractors leasing space in the salon. The salon provides the work station, utilities and in some cases a receptionist to service the stylists. These stylists are generally more experienced and have built a solid clientele. They purchase their own products used in servicing their clients either from the salon or other suppliers and set their own prices. HOW IS YOUR SMILE? Did you know . . . a knocked out tooth may be replanted if you act quickly? Dont clean the tooth, just wrap it in a damp cloth and hustle off to the dentist. If you can get there within 30 minutes youve got a 90% chance of saving it. If you wear braces, get extra calcium. Adjusting the position of teeth can leave small gaps in the jawbone. These need to be replaced with new bone. Take it as a supplement or eat plenty of green leafy vegetables. ITS THE LITTLE THINGS Did you know . . . even in the enlightened period of time we live in, most women do not conduct regular breast exams on themselves? So what is a segment on breast exam doing in a beauty book? Well, in order to use the tips in this guide, you have to be around to do it! Make a self-exam of your breasts part of your daily beauty routine. It doesnt take long and you can do it in the shower or in the bath. Just do it. More than 90 percent of all breast lumps are discovered by women themselves. The majority of all breast lumps are benign. One in ten women will develop breast cancer at some time in her life. Thus far, breast cancer cannot be prevented. But, with regular breast self-examination (BSE) and periodic screening, breast cancer can be detected early and treated properly! If you dont know how to conduct the exam, ask your doctor for a chart that will teach you how. Then just do it! Remember to keep a smile on your face! ———————— In the beginning man worked hard to survive. He had many things to do. Hunting, keeping warm, finding berries, and taking care of his family. He did not have time to worry about being fat, as there wasn’t an issue of fat. It was survival of the fittest, those that were not fit, perished, or had someone to watch over them. Man’s goal was survival. Women labored hard, and many died in childbirth. There were many deaths of their infants, so women kept reproducing to keep the family surviving. They scrubbed, cooked, gathered food and wood and tended after the children. They did not have time to worry about things that made them happy or not happy. Their goal was survival. Well, times have changed, people don’t work physically as hard as their ancestors did, they lose fewer children and the dying in labor has been brought down to a small percentage. Emergency hospitals with ambulances and new technology and medicines have saved the lives of countless people. Living a Healthier life is rather simple. It is the matter of knowing some essential ingredients to happiness. Statistics tell you the following: Those who are married are far happier than those who are not. Those who have some kind of faith or religion are happier Those who go to bed at night and sleep an average of 8 hours Those who have friends and family Those who are mentally and physically healthy Those who have a regular schedule to live by Sure, having extra money makes people happier too. However, the above ingredients are the true essence of happiness. Money just adds extra. Having money and not the above can end up feeling pretty empty. ADD IT TO YOUR LIFE…. Water, you need water. Try to add at least 4 more glasses of water to your daily diet. The rule of thumb for water is 8 glasses per day; and one extra for every ten pounds overweight you are. Fats, you need to know about fats. There are different kinds of fats. Some fats are better for you than others. A rule of thumb on fats is, stay away from hydrogenated fats. These are fats that solidify. They are in store bought cakes, cookies, crackers, chips and even in bran muffins. Read the labels. Choose fats that are polyunsaturated or fats such as olive oil. And, eat some fish to get some omega-3 fats. Carbohydrates are your immediate fuel source. An average is about 55 percent of your diet in carbohydrates. So, a rule of thumb is, figure your protein grams, get around 25% fat per day, and the rest would be in carbohydrates. The heavier you are, the more protein you need and the fewer carbohydrates you will need. Fiber - work up to getting 25 grams of Fiber per day Protein - averages about 20 percent. Women divide weight by 2.2 and multiply that by .8 to get the kilograms. For men it averages one gram per each kilogram of weight. So, a man would divide his weight in pounds by 2.2 then multiply that by .10 Fats - try not to exceed more than 25 percent fat in your daily diet. 30 percent is acceptable, too. That does not mean you can’t have a junk food fast food hamburger … it just means that if you do eat that 55 percent fat burger that you are going to have to cut down on other fat filled foods for the rest of the day to balance it out. Make exchanges gradually. Suppose you drink whole milk … work down to 2 percent, replacing two of your cups per day until you can completely change over. If you are on two percent milk, work down to 1 percent. Add bran to your cereals for extra fiber. Also, add it in your baking. You need to balance your diet with vegetables and fruits, too. Try adding different colors to your plate. Maybe an orange yam, and some green beans, to add color. More variety of food colors brings more variety of vitamins. Eat more raw foods. Remember, exchange things, add things, and do it gradually. Remember, live all things in life in moderation and soon you will be bouncy and vibrant and well on your way to living BEAUTIFULLY! Love Who You Married

By Angie Lewis I believe the word “love” is thrown around just a bit too nonchalantly. Don’t you think? People say they love but do nothing to SHOW that love. Love needs action to complete its purpose. So when I say “love who you married” that means to provide of your self in the marriage. That IS what love is! Lets take a look at 6 biblically based principles that make up several areas of loving. “Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no records of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always preserves.” 1 Corinthians 13:4-7 1. Love Is Patient! Are you patient with your spouse? Patience is a virtue. It is a wonderful character trait to have and practice patience. Are you utilizing all of the potential that God has given you? Are you patient, or are you easily irritated and annoyed? Do you listen to what your spouse has to say? Are you considerate and understanding of their needs and desires? Being patient with your spouse is one way you furnish love to them. 2. Love Does Not Envy! Are you jealous of who you married? Do you ever envy or resent your spouse? Resentment runs rampant in marriages today, and it is literally tearing couples apart! You dont want resentment to tear apart your marriage, do you? So often I hear couples tell me how resentful they are of their spouse for one reason or another, but mostly over petty little things that only need to be discussed! Instead what are they doing? Getting even! Have you talked to your spouse today? 3. Love Is Not Self-Seeking!! This is a biggy! I talk quite a bit about selfishness in my book, “Journey on the Roads Less Traveled”, and in many of my articles. Why? I believe that it is a major issue with couples even though it doesnt always seem apparent. I know how a selfish spouse can tear the other down with them. Ive been there and done that one. I wasnt taught how to give of myself, being the spoiled little brat that I was growing up. I was so into “myself”, and so out in left field for my marriage, that is, until I found the love of Jesus for my life. We all have some selfish abilities that we shine intensely on occasion. But some of us are so selfish in marriage that we dont KNOW how to give of our self at all!! Many issues cause selfish behavior, but mostly it is lack of the spiritual Christ intervening in our psyche. What we allow into our mind is what we will output to others, mainly the person we married. This is why I stress in previous articles that for a healthy and sound marriage couples need to take care of them selves FIRST, then and only then, can they help the marriage. 4. Love Is Not Easily Angered! Do you get angry with your spouse over nothing! Do you ever think that you might be behaving impatient and intolerable with your spouse? What underlining problem might be charging your anger? If you are quick to anger, something deeper is bothering you. Until you get to the root of that, the anger will remain within your inner psyche ready to abuse whoever gets in the way. If you are abusing your spouse with your angry feelings, leave the house if you have to. It is wrong to berate your spouse with bad feelings of anger, and it hurts them terribly. “My dear brothers, take note of this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry, for mans anger does not bring about the righteous life that God desires.” James 1:19-20 “A hot-tempered man stirs up dissension, but a patient man, calms a quarrel.” Proverbs 15:18 6. Love Does Not Delight In Evil but Rejoices In Truth! This has to be the champion of all the aspects of love because if we followed this one simple principle we would not need any other standards to tell us how to love, or what love is. This straightforward verse speaks for itself, but for some of you, maybe you are not sure what the TRUTH is. The truth is what will set you free from all of the above unpleasant aspects of your character, such as anger, resentment, envy, jealousy and strife. After all, these are only feelings that you carry around inside your head. You can either make them your life or find a new way of life. If you want to be free of these feelings you need to find the truth, right? You need to KNOW the truth, right? Deeply put, the truth not only sets us free from our weaknesses, but also makes us new people within that truth. Once we start applying THE truth into our life is when we can easily stop carrying around any bitter feelings, and negative attitudes that we may have. Simply said, truth is Gods words of wisdom. We will be walking in truth when we apply Gods truth into our life. Bottom line, the person who has wisdom is loving towards their spouse, faithful, honest, trustworthy, committed, trusts in God, puts God first, turns away from evil, knows right from wrong, listens and learns, and applies wisdom into their life and marriage. “Blessed is the man who finds wisdom, the man who gains understanding, for she is more profitable than silver and yields better returns than gold. She is more precious than rubies; nothing you desire can compare with her. Long life is in her right hand; in her left hand are riches and honor. Her ways are pleasant ways and all her paths are peace. She is a tree of life to those who embrace her; those who lay hold of her will be blessed.” Proverbs 3:13-18 And that is the truth! Commit To Cardio Exercise For Permanent Weight Loss

By Kris Bierek Everyone is looking for the secret to losing weight. Everyone wants it to be easy. There is no easy way to lose weight, but there is a secret. It may not be what you want to hear, though. The weight loss formula is basically simple: burn more calories than you consume. How do you do that? Commit to Cardio! Too many people underestimate the importance of cardio in their workout routine. If you truly want to lose weight, you need to be doing a good 45 minute to 1 hour cardio workout 4 to 5 times per week. Less than that will help you to maintain your current weight, but won’t help you to shed those pounds. You need to find what you enjoy, make it a priority, and work hard while you’re at it! The first step to making your commitment to cardio is to find what you enjoy. There are so many options to choose from - running, cycling, cardio machines in the gym, and group fitness classes, just to name a few. If you get bored easily, change it up frequently. Find a friend who likes the same type of workout and use the buddy system. If you pick an activity you enjoy, it will be much easier to stick with it. Make your cardio workout a priority. Quit scheduling your workouts around everything else you have to do, and instead schedule everything else around your workout. Write it in your planner if you need to, but don’t let anything interfere. If you make it important in your daily routine, then you will find ways to work in everything else you need to do. Finally, while you’re at it, work hard! Get your heart rate up into the aerobic zone and keep it there for at least 30 minutes.* Always think to yourself, “This is my workout, so make sure I get what I came for. What’s the point of working if I’m not working hard? Push it!” Tell yourself these things as you work out, and push yourself! The benefits of a cardio workout routine go far beyond just losing weight and feeling better. Your heart will be healthier, you can lower your cholesterol and blood pressure, it’s a stress reducer, you will feel better about yourself, you will have more energy, the list is endless. So quit making excuses and commit to cardio today! *To determine your aerobic heart rate training zone, you must first find your maximum heart rate (MHR) MHR =220-age Your aerobic training zone is between 70%-80% of your MHR. After 20 minutes in this zone, your body burns fat efficiently and quickly. Kris created ShapeFit.com to provide quality health and fitness information to people from all over the world. Catering Your Own Wedding Can Be A Piece of Cake: If You Know The Secret Strategies

By Kathi Dameron After shopping around for a caterer for your wedding what did you find? Were you shocked by the prices? Blown away by the quotes? Hungry for sweeter options? Distressed by the enormous price tag of having a dream wedding reception catered by the local catering companies in your community? Dreaming of a sweet deal where you can have your cake and eat it, too? You are not alone! Catering a dream wedding reception can be very expensive. But don’t despair! There are other options available to you that will have you singing all the way to the chapel! Did you know that it is actually possible for a bride to semi-cater or self-cater her own reception and yet go no where near a kitchen in the days preceding her wedding? Are you wondering how that could be possible? Semi-catering or self-catering your reception does not have to imply that you would be involved with the food at all immediately before, during or after your wedding reception. The brides role in the semi-catered or self-catered wedding reception is performed months before her wedding day when she: 1. Creates the wedding menu. 2. Selects the recipes that will be used. 3. Organizes the details, creates the action plan, plans the schedule, writes the to do lists. 4. Establishes a team of willing volunteers. 5. Delegates the responsibilities. Like any large project when it is sliced into small bite size pieces it becomes very manageable. Step by step, piece by piece is the way that a bride can semi-cater or self-cater her wedding reception with great tasting food and a sweet price tag.
